It is with gratitude that I wish my readers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Yes I am writing this on the second day of Christmas, otherwise known as the second day of Christmas. This past year has been hard on all of us, with changes that have indelibly changed us all and what we consider to be normal. My thoughts and sympathies go to all who have suffered this year. Uncertainties and discomforts face us all as we move into a New Year, as we hope to return to a very different normality to the one that disappeared with the Pandemic. It is with that in mind that I have decided to review the year and give you an insight into what to expect for the coming year.
I began this year with no idea as to what was to come. Life for me was a pattern of caring for my father and writing my books. I brought with me several books which were part finished and many more ideas. February saw me filing for divorce which, thanks to the delays from the pandemic, was finalised in October. Between the end of last year and the first half of this year I was writing and editing The Happy Ending, which I was to publish in Paperback in July and on Kindle on the 10th September 2020. I had fun both writing and editing The Happy Ending and am very pleased to have been able to share this sweet story of a modern woman who finds fairytale type love while being thrown back in time into the story of Pride and Prejudice. In the time of Spring and Summer I wrote two stories: one called Nocturnal Truths and one which is a Cinderella/Pride and Prejudice crossover. Both of those stories are in the editing process and will be coming soon.
The Meryton War was unpublished towards the end of the year to begin a rewrite and will be republished as a second edition hopefully next year.
The Darcy Legacy has seen a move forward over November. I have been working hard on the third book of the series. It began as me revisiting the idea I had for this book and it taking a completely different direction, which you will all love. You can expect the Druids to make an appearance, some supernatural elements as well as an unexpected romance. There is much that Elizabeth Bennet’s father must reveal in order to claim the forgiveness of those who knew him as a young man.
So what can you expect next year? Nocturnal Truths and the Cinderella/Pride and Prejudice Novella are almost guaranteed. The it is also my hope to bring the next instalment of the Darcy legacy to you next year.
Please stay safe, enjoy the season as best you can and once more Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
